DEPRESSION

Depression is a common psychiatric illness that impacts the way you feel and think.  It is estimated that depression affects about one in 15 adults or 6.7% of people in a given year.  About one in six people (16.6%) will experience depression in their life. 

So what are symptoms of depression? 

A depressed mood on most days for most of each day 

A very noticeable loss of interest or pleasure in activities most of the time

A significant change in weight or appetite 

Feeling agitated or the opposite, feeling really slowed down

A loss of energy and feeling fatigued
